Plantagenet Omrah Chardonnay

More in the modern crisp style of Chardonnay this one does give some hints of  the classic Chardonnay attributes – lime, peach, burnt butter, however the acidity does not allow those notes to come through in the amounts this writer likes.

In fact the finish is quite astringent … a touch of sour apples.

Definitely a wine that needs food, perhaps with a plate of cheese & pate, mussels, Thai curry or even Yum Cha.

A dry white with a hint of Chardonnay.

The usual RRP for this is around $20 so it really belongs in the “Fine” category, and there are better wines in this category, but it was on special at $10 when I bought it, so I’ll give it the benefit of rating it as “plonk”
